During 26-28 of July (2023), the ASSESS group actively participated in the 16th Hellenic Astronomical Conference, held in Athens. In total, we had three talks and five posters accepted.
Alceste Bonanos provided an overview of the “Results of the ASSESS project: Episodic Mass Loss in Evolved Massive Stars: Key to Understanding the Explosive Early Universe“. Manos Zapartas discussed the most recent results from “Investigating the effect of mass loss of Red Supergiants in the Small Magellanic Cloud“, while Grigoris Maravelias presented the collective results from “Investigating the populations of dusty evolved stars in various metallicities with machine learning“.
At the posters of the conference, Kostas Antoniadis presented “The mass-loss rates of Red Supergiants in the Large Magellanic Cloud”), while Evangelia Christodoulou the first results from “Near Infrared Spectroscopy of red supergiants in NGC 6822, IC 10 & WLM with EMIR”. Stella Avgousti presented some preliminary results on “Variable massive stars in the Andromeda galaxy using the Gaia Data Release 3”, while Gonzalo Munoz-Sanchez an ongoing investigation for “A luminous RSG in the LMC with a bow shock?”. Lastly, Grigoris Maravelias presented in a poster the “New B[e] supergiants and candidate Luminous Blue Variables in nearby galaxies from the ASSESS project”, which was recently published.
